Work Order Type

Work Order Type is a module to display and manage a type per work order (e.g. services, defiency).

For each type, a prefix can be used to display the number of a work order with it.

Within a work order type, it is possible to select a service code per work order line.

This document elaborates on the steps of using and configuring this feature.

Configuration

The ‘Manufacturer’ permission is required to access work order type management and service code management.

Work Order Type

In the configuration, ‘Manufacturer’ menu, the ‘Work order type’ submenu provides access to the management of work order types.

Entering a work order type has certain particularities

A-The entry of a type is possible in French and English. The entry in French reports the same information on the English field if it is empty. This type will be displayed in a column in certain windows with a selection of the type (e.g.: in the work order) and in certain windows with a reference to the work orders. It is not possible to enter the same type of work order several times.

B-The prefix allows the display of the type of BT in certain windows with a reference to the work orders (e.g.: WO-R-4021-1)

C-The obligation applies for the entry of service codes (next section).

D-This option allows you to print the service codes for this type of work order. By default, this is not checked when creating a work order type.

Service Code

In the configuration, ‘Manufacturer’ menu, the ‘Service code’ submenu allows access to service code management.

B-Selecting a work order type is mandatory. By default, the work order type ‘WORK ORDER’ is available. This represents the default for a service code.

Permission

The ‘Edit Work Order Type’ permission is required to edit the type already selected in a work order.

Use

When transferring an order to a work order or a work order to another work order, a type selection appears.

Work Order File

In the work order, the type is visible in the ‘Type’ tab. Without the type edit permission, it cannot be changed.

Mandatory

If the work order type requires an entry requirement, service codes must be assigned for each of the order lines (products and materials).

The service codes associated with the work order type appear in the drop-down list in the ‘Service Code’ column in the list of products and materials.

Important: The column must be displayed with the gear near the table.

Print

When printing a work order, the ‘Service Code’ column appears and the code is displayed in the column.

Only the service code is printed: this allows the description not to be displayed to the customer or a partner. It serves as an internal reference.

List of work orders

In the work order list, the work order number contains the prefix of the work order type. The type column is also available in the columns gear.
