Time within products

To enable drag-and-drop functionality for jobs in the calendar, you must first configure time triggers based on the product files.

This setup is managed through the product file, where time can be assigned under the Capacity and Short-Term tables:

  • Each time entry is in minutes.

  • These time entries represent how long a job will take and directly influence scheduling.

  • For example, setting 15 minutes on a sheet product will affect both the bottleneck (capacity) and the CNC Workshop.

Note that even though it is known that capacity is often linked to the CNC, both fields are configured independently from one another. It is expected that both fields contain the same value (in minutes).

Once configured:

  • These time values add up to form a “stick” (visual time block), which you can drag and drop into your calendar.

  • This functionality applies to all product types, whether they are managed by quantity or nonstop quantity, as long as time is properly configured.

Important considerations:

  • Time is not tied to teams, since teams are part of departments and are used to assign jobs to.

  • Instead, time is triggered per department or workshop, which ensures the job appears in the correct calendar category.

  • Properly linking products to the right department is essential for scheduling accuracy—particularly for capacity planning and short-term visibility within the visual processor.

This setup ensures your scheduling system reflects accurate time demands for each product, enabling precise calendar interactions via drag-and-drop.
