Short-term calendar

Aside from planning your short-term activities, this calendar is also a great tool for the employees looking to know which is the next job they should work on. Since each workstation is planned individually, you also have a flexible tool allowing you to quickly change your schedule, no matter how advanced your project is in the plant.

The calendar

Each planned coloured stick represents the labour time, in minutes, for each production step, allowing you to know when the project should start at one of the workshops but also when it should be done, based on a Gantt diagram.

With this tool, you can also have a daily or weekly view in order to better track the estimated advancement of your projects.

Looking for a project in particular? You can easily find the customer in the work-order table at the bottom of the window, select the project and click on ‘'locate’' to find quickly find it in the calendar.

While you can open the work-order in the calendar, you can also simply open the pop-up box by double-clicking on a specific time stick; you will then have access to the triggered time by product, materials with supplier delay, documents and notes under the memo ‘'tab’', all coming from the work-orders.

Simulation

Since the calendar is mainly a consultation tool, it’s the simulation that will allow you to make your schedule.

In order to do so, open the simulation and select the ‘'Job to plan’'. Select the work-order you wish to schedule and click on ‘'Display times’'.

Click on the first workshop to plan, drag and drop it on the workstation line corresponding in the calendar, at the chosen day and time.

It is also possible to split the time into two workstations or more if needed. Click on the planned stick, select ‘'Split planning’' and enter the wanted number of separation and their percentage. You will then have the desired number of sticks and will be able to plan them in your different workstations. On the opposite, you can easily regroup your time by using the right-click and selecting ‘'Merge planning’'. You will then revert to a single time stick to plan.

Last-minute change? At any time, you may modify your schedule by clicking on the planned stick and move it according to your new situation. Your project is on hold? Right-click on the stick and select ‘'delete from schedule’' in order for it to return under the ‘'Job to plans’' tab.

Note: When scheduling, it is important to take into consideration the steps depending on one another. For example, the edgebanding step cannot be done unless the nesting is completed.

Configuration

Before using your short-term calendar, you will first have to create your workshops and workstations.

The workshop represents a general production step (such as assembly), while the workstation act as a working table; that being said, you could have on assembly workshop, but 3 assembly workstations linked to it.

The workshop creation is accessible through the planning window>maintenance>workshops.

One the window open, you will be able to create, modify, merge or delete a workshop. You can also add a schedule for each of them, that may be pushed upon their workstations as well.

When creation a workshop, you will need to name it and add the hourly rate in order for it to be taken into account for your cost price.

The workstation creation is accessible through the planning window>maintenance>workstation.

To create a new workstation, simply name it and choose the workshop it is linked to.
