Velocity for installation teams
You will now be able to have planning closer to reality. Plan according to the speed of execution of each of your teams and optimize their schedules!
To do this, you will need to have the “velocity for installation crews” module enabled.
Configuration :
In the Team sheet, it will be possible to configure and display the velocity value.
Velocity modification per stick
In the simulation window, it is also possible to modify the resource value for a specific stick. Just use right-clicks on it and clicks on “Configure velocity”.
Calculation of the length of a stick
This section elaborates on how is calculated the length of a stick with the use of the velocity
End Date Time = Start Date Time + (Time / number of resources / % velocity)
Example – Scenario 1
100 min, 2 resources, 50% velocity
End Date Time = Start Date Time + (100 / 2 / 0,5) = Start Date Time + 100 min
Example – Scenario 2
200 min, 5 resources, 200% velocity
End Date Time = Start Date Time + (200 / 5 / 2) = Start Date Time + 20 min
Example – Scenario 3
75 min, 3 resources, 100 %
End Date Time = Start Date Time + (75 / 3 / 1) = Start Date Time + 25 min
Example – Scenario 4
200 min, 0 resources (no configuration), 200 %
End Date Time = Start Date Time + (200 / 1 / 2) = Start Date Time + 100 min
Example – Scenario 5
200 min, 4 resources, 0 % (no configuration)
End Date Time = Start Date Time + (200 / 4 / 1) = Start Date Time + 50 min
Example – Scenario 6
200 min, 0 resources (no configuration), 0 % (no configuration)
No change on the initial display of a task: the End Date Time remains the same (200 min).
Limits
As shown in the examples, the velocity % and the number of resources can be used independently to have an impact on the length of a stick. The default values are always 1 /100%.
The velocity feature has NO impact on the planning time and cost price. In another word, this feature affects ONLY the length of displayed sticks in the installation calendar.
