Import / Export of modifications to characteristics

In the maintenance grid management window, it is possible to replace variables, titles, group names and other targets present in the grids. Two functionalities exist to carry out this type of operation: individual replacement and replacements by importing an Excel file.

Access

It is through the Setup menu → Feature Grid → “Replacements” button, the functionality is accessible.

Individual replacement

Individual replacement is possible on certain subjects of the characteristic grids.

Section A

Depending on the selected subjects, the search and replacement will be carried out on them

Section B

This input box corresponds to the element to search for in the subjects indicated in section A

Section C

This input box corresponds to the replacement element for the element found.

Section D

During a replacement, on all selected subjects, a search is carried out with the element of zone B. When it is found, a replacement of this element is carried out with that of zone C.

NOTE: a backup can be made during this operation. It is highly recommended.

Replacement by import

It is possible to type individual cells with this functionality. This applies both without import and after import with manual adjustments.

Section A

Taking a copy is mandatory when using replacement by import. Given the massive scope of the replacements, this aspect is essential. You must indicate a directory with write access.

Section B

The list of tabs represent the topics covered by the replacements. These subjects can be found in the excel file to import (see below). Most topics contain a column of an element to target (e.g.: a variable) and a replacement element. When there is an entry, a blue circle icon appears on the subject tab.

Section C

The input grid contains the elements to find with those of replacements. It is possible to make a direct entry as is the case for an Excel cell.

Section D

It is possible to extract an Excel file equivalent to the one required when importing the grid. It has the same format.

Section E

The following import grid to be imported.

Linguistic Correspondence

It is important to leave the tabs in their original position as well as the columns. Entering a single subject (e.g.: Group) is possible, everything is optional.

Section F

During a replacement, each element to be found is replaced for each subject. It is not possible to have an existing replacement item. In other words, merging is not possible using this tool.

ATTN: There is no recovery tool. The backup is carried out to allow Cienapps to recover certain data (possible additional costs may apply).
