Enable the transfer of Product documents to BT
This module allows you to add a link to a document from a product in a work order. When the product is:
Added to a folder
Added to a work order
Transferred from an order to a work order
Transferred from a work order to a work order
Imported via CAD/CAM import
The listed documents are associated with the targeted tab. This document elaborates on the details of this feature.
Configuration
In a product, it is possible to add a document and indicate the tab in which the document will be associated.
Tab Configuration
In the general configuration, the ‘Option 2’ tab allows you to indicate the titles of the document tabs in the transaction files (quotation, order, work order, invoice).
Using the feature
When adding a product to the work order, the product documents are associated with the targeted tabs in the work order.
Unique Document
When the document has been configured as a 'Unique Document' in the product file, a single copy is created on the work order.
The document will have the same name with the addition of the work order number.
Example
MyDocument.txt becomes MyDocument_8463-1.txt. The number 8463-1 represents its work order.
Printing
The multiple print button displays a window that lets you define how documents are printed. Only the documents in the current tab are displayed.
Legend
A-You can select the default printer and tray. The printer configured by default on your computer is the one selected in this list.
B-The list of documents is those in the current tab.
C-By default, the quantity is set to 1. To not print the document, the quantity must be set to 0. Each document will be printed as many times as the quantity entered.
LIMITATIONS
Only the following document types will be printed: .docx (Word), PDF, XLS and XLSX (Excel), and JPG.
Printing uses your printer's format. For example, if your print format is 8.5 x 11 and the Excel file is 20 x 60, the overhangs will be printed on multiple lines.
It is recommended:
Use a PDF document that complies with your printer's print format.
Do not use a document other than a PDF: most Excel documents are not necessarily designed to print in a specific format.
This feature is not compatible with the Document Structuring module.
