Introduction

The Official Product Status in Cieblink allows suppliers to mark certain products as "Official," impacting their management, visibility, and modification within the platform. This document details how the official status works, how to make a product official, and how the "Deactivate Non-Official Products" button operates.

How the Official Status Works

With this update, products can have one of four statuses:

  • Inactive: Product is disabled and not visible in sales mode.

  • Pending: Product is visible but not yet confirmed by a supplier.

  • Active: Product is validated and active for sale.

  • Official: Product is validated and locked for modification by buyers.

When a product is marked Official, buyers can no longer modify it but can add a version to their list by creating a copy of the product.

How the "Deactivate Non-Official Products" Button Works

This button allows sellers to automatically deactivate all products that are not Official. The goal is to clean up the list of products visible in sales mode and ensure only official products remain active.

Behavior:

  1. The user clicks "Deactivate Non-Official Products".

  2. A confirmation prompt warns that the operation is irreversible.

  3. All Active and Pending products are deactivated.

  4. Official products remain active and visible.

  5. A batch process optimizes the update of product statuses.

Ways to Make a Product Official

A product can obtain the Official status in several ways:

  1. Sales mode product import (from a file or external API).

  2. Modifying the product sheet: A supplier can manually change the status.

  3. Creating a new product in Sales mode.

  4. Via external APIs : Any product retrieved through these APIs is automatically marked Official.

  5. Category transfers from Cienapps (similar to grid transfers).

Impact on Users

Buyers

  • Cannot modify an Official product.

  • Can only add it to their product list (creating an identical new version).

  • Can filter product lists by status.

Suppliers

  • Can modify product statuses.

  • Can mark a product as Official.

  • Can use the "Deactivate Non-Official Products" button to clean up visible products.

Once the product statuses have been adjusted, a account setting can be enabled to display only official products to buyers.
