Custom Description

The Custom Description is used to display specific information or specific features choosen when applying feature to a product in the Quotation.

 

To edit or create a new Custom Description you need to go in the Custom Description tab of the Feature Grid.

To edit an existing Custom Description just select it and double click on it to open the FullScreen Custom Description formula Editor.

 

To create a new Custom Description just press the + button in the middle right center of the screen.

Cienapps then add a new line available for Custom Description in the table.

You have the ability to create a Custom Description for Quantity, French Description, English Description and Price.

 

For the Example we will create an English Description to show the EXAMPLE CATEGORY 2 information that will be choosen when applying features to the product.

Double click in the CASE you want to open the Custom Description Formula Editor.

This will open the same Formula Editor window has the Price Formula editor.

In a Custom Description text we will not use the value, cost or price to be show but the name of the choosen feature and we can add text to describe what this name refer to.

if you want to validate that the Custom Description you wrote is right just press the Validate Formula button.

Then press OK and the Save button.

Now you can see that there is a custom description that had been added to the first line of the table.

If you want to add a Quantity Description Formula or a Price Description Formula just do the same but other than choosing the name in the criteria you will use COST or PRICE criteria.

NOTICE HERE THAT THE CUSTOM DESCRIPTION PRICE IS NOT USED TO RETURN THE PRODUCT PRICE BUT THE PRICE OF THE FEATURE THAT IS USED IN THE CUSTOM DESCRIPTION.

 

If you only want the Custom Description to be showed on the printed quotation you need to check the Display Only The Custom Description check box.

If not CHECKED Cienapps will print the complete list of choosen Features + the Custom Description.
