Generate the Technical Plan

Generate the Technical Plan

What is the PDF Plan?

The PDF Plan is simply a complete document that gathers all the technical views of your project in one place.

It’s a comprehensive and highly useful tool for communicating with clients.

  1. It starts with an overview page, showing the entire project layout with all rooms properly positioned.

  2. Then it dives into the details: each room is presented one by one.

    1. For each room, you’ll first see a 3D view with the selected materials — giving you a clear idea of the final look.

  3. Next comes the room’s exact dimensions, followed by elevations of each wall.

So, for every room, you get everything you need: a visual, measurements, and technical details.

Important Note About PDF Generation

When you click on the PDF icon in Ciemetric, the interface automatically switches to capture mode.

At this stage, you can take snapshots of each room in your project.
These snapshots will be placed at the beginning of each section of the PDF — right before the dimensions and elevations.
You can take up to five views per room, depending on what you want to highlight.

It’s a great way to customize your plan and make your presentation even clearer and more professional.

Understanding the PDF Plan Structure

The PDF plan may contain several pages, especially if your project includes multiple rooms. That’s why it’s important to understand how it’s structured.

1 | Overview

page 1 pdf.jpg

The first page shows the full layout, including all rooms if your project has more than one. This gives you a global view and helps situate each space effectively.

2 | Room by Room

2.1 | Room Presentation Page

Each room starts with a visual presentation page.
This page includes a 3D rendered snapshot of the room, as you designed it.

You’ll clearly see the materials used — finishes, colors, textures.

It’s a great way to give a realistic preview of the room before diving into technical details.

Note: All 3D render snapshots you’ve taken for that room will appear right after this introduction page in the PDF.
So, if you captured multiple angles or details, they’ll be grouped together in the order you took them.
Perfect for visual context before showing measurements and elevations.

2.2 | After the Renders, It’s Time for Precision

Once the top view is done, you’ll see the elevations of each wall in the room.

Each wall is shown individually, with all key details visible — cabinet heights, openings, appliances, spacing…

This is the best place to validate the vertical layout and ensure everything is well thought out — both functionally and aesthetically.

2.3 | Wall Elevations

Once the top view is done, you’ll see the elevations of each wall in the room.

2.4 | Island View

If your layout includes an island, you’ll also get a dedicated section.

The island view lets you see it from all angles, with every dimension clearly visible.

It’s incredibly useful for validating clearances, ergonomics, and integration into the space.

Add Project Information

Before finalizing your PDF, don’t forget to add the project details: client name, address, quote number, or any other relevant information.

This is essential to properly identify your plans, especially if they need to be signed by the client.
A well-identified plan means no confusion — just clarity.

Where to Add Project Info?

To add project information, go to the “Project Information” bubble by clicking the “i” icon on the file.

There, you can enter all the key details: project name, client, quote number, etc.

These details will automatically appear in the title block at the bottom of each PDF page — giving your plans a clean, professional look that’s easy to follow.
